Job summary

The role emphasizes quality care and outstanding customer service while handling scheduling, documentation, and interdepartmental communication. The position requires assisting with referrals, authorizations, and appointment scheduling, with a focus on minimizing barriers to care for patients and ensuring smooth workflows within the Referrals

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year experience as a referral clerk or similar preferred.
• Knowledge of health center information systems and data entry is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clerical duties to support patient services, including answering phones, photocopying, faxing, and scheduling referrals.
• Process patient referrals promptly to ensure continuity of care according to priority notes.
• Assist providers with proper referral documentation and authorization as required.
• Help patients schedule initial and follow-up appointments and navigate forms and paperwork for referrals.
