Job summary

Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center (TVHC) is seeking a Referral Clerk to connect patients with external referral and follow-up services. The role prioritizes quality care and customer service while supporting scheduling, documentation, and data entry in the health center system.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week), typically Monday–Friday with occasional Saturday hours. TVHC offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year experience as referral clerk preferred.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Computer basics and data entry experience preferred.
• HIPAA confidentiality understanding.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clerical duties in support of patient services for referrals.
• Coordinate timely processing and linking of patient referrals to service providers.
• Assist providers with completing referral documentation and authorization.
• Schedule initial and follow-up appointments and help patients navigate forms.
• Assist patients and providers with external referrals and barrier removal.
• Obtain insurance authorization as needed.
