Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Ann Arbor seeks a customer-focused Referral Coordinator to connect patients with their care team. You will manage the referral process, including authorizations and follow-up, to ensure timely access to services.

Responsibilities include contacting insurance for authorizations, educating patients and staff, scheduling appointments, verifying registrations, and maintaining accurate records to support seamless referrals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with insurance referrals or prior authorizations.
• High School Diploma required.
• Medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies and obtain authorizations.
• Educate patients and staff with pertinent referral and insurance information.
• Obtain urgent authorizations same day and next day.
• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
• Answer questions, route calls appropriately, and relay messages to clinical staff.
• Verify patient registration and insurance information.
• Support referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
• Test tracks the referrals until fulfilled by the patient.
