Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Referral Coordinator to serve as a key connection between patients and their healthcare team. You will handle all aspects of the referral process, including authorizations and follow-up, ensuring timely coordination of care.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience with insurance referrals and prior authorization in a medical office setting, with a day shift in full-time employment in Michigan.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience with insurance referrals or prior authorization.
• Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies and obtain authorization for specific plans.
• Educate patients and staff with pertinent referral and insurance information.
• Obtain urgent authorizations same day or next day.
• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
• Answer questions, route calls, and relay messages to clinical staff.
• Verify patient registration and insurance information.
• Support referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
• Test tracks the referrals until fulfilled by the patient.
