Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction seeks a Corrections Programs Director I at Wake Correctional Center in Raleigh. The role directs re-entry programs and offender classifications, supervising staff and coordinating with community partners to ensure alignment with policy.

Responsibilities include administering complex programs, leading in-house and community-based re-entry services, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Documented experience with report writing.
• Documented knowledge of case management practices, or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments.

Responsibilities

• Administering programs with a broad scope and complexity at a minimum custody correctional facility.
• Directing major programs as the direct contact for transitional re-entry services, both in-house and within the community.
• Assisting with ensuring that Community-Based Programs are ran efficiently according to NCDAC policy.
• Meeting with local constituents and the Division of Community Supervision (DCS) staff and maintaining positive working relationships.
• Supervising 3 Program Supervisors and subordinate staff who are responsible for the implementation, development and the maintenance of the programs on a daily basis.
• Conducting in-house audits on all Programs Supervisors and their staff’s caseloads to ensure compliance with Programs Standards and Case Management Policy.
• Coordinating programs and custody staff.
• Serving in a custody role during emergency situations, such as disturbances and escapes.
