Job summary

Goodwill of Southern New England seeks a housing navigator in New Haven, CT. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to assist individuals, including those at high risk or experiencing housing instability, to reintegrate after incarceration.

Responsibilities include housing planning, referrals, and coordination with community providers. The role emphasizes confidentiality, crisis intervention when needed, and documentation of services, with a focus on empowering participants to achieve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; plus two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, including previous experience providing housing navigation or assistance.
• Ability to assess housing needs and advocate for participants during reintegration.
• Ability to maintain HIPAA/privacy guidance and coordinate with partners.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the interdisciplinary team to provide housing services and supports for participants.
• Provide information and referral for housing services and opportunities.
• Develop individualized housing plans and assist with housing applications and documentation.
• Develop relationships with community providers to assist the unhoused population and coordinate with funders.
• Accompany participants to landlord appointments to support housing placement.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete timely documentation of activities and expenditures.
