Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC. is seeking a dedicated professional to support participants by managing a caseload and applying evidence-based practices in line with the What Works system. You will work under the Program Manager and Contracting agency directions to implement program policies.

The role involves assessments, group facilitation, budgeting assistance, housing referrals, and discharge reporting to help participants reenter the community successfully.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services discipline or equivalent experience.
• Familiar with community corrections systems and current community corrections practices.
• Familiar with community work force needs, public and private agencies and employment services.
• Ability to write clear concise reports in English using correct grammar.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages.
• Must be able to react quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not mandatory.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Responsibilities

• Conducts risk/need assessments and creates individual treatment plans for each assigned participant to establish measurable criteria of expected behavior and an accomplishments timeline.
• Facilitates psycho-educational/behavior modification groups using evidence-based curriculum.
• Assists participants to establish personal budget, locate housing, enroll in educational and vocational programs and participate in family and community activities to achieve financial independence.
• Orient participants on arrival to provide smooth assimilation into program including paperwork, tours, and introductions.
• Make entries into confidential participant files to document program participation and ensure confidentiality.
• Prepares discharge reports within established time parameters upon participant release.
• Participates in staff meetings to share observations and recommendations and promote teamwork.
• Maintains confidentiality and monitors participants’ compliance with counseling when required.
• Reports all program violations to the appropriate agency or official.
• Conducts orientation meetings with new participants to explain program rules and contract responsibilities.
• Sets participant schedules and approves activity plans based on sentencing information.
• Communicates effectively with all levels of staff to promote teamwork.
• Adheres to attendance rules and works overtime as needed to ensure coverage and safety.
• Follows safety rules and responds to directives to ensure safe work operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
