Job summary

O2 Employment Services is seeking a Food Service Manager in Redding, CA to lead a high-volume kitchen operation for a local non-profit. You will supervise staff and volunteers, plan menus, manage inventory, and ensure safety compliance while delivering quality meals for a large community.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of food service leadership, Serve-Safe certification, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of food service industry experience.
• Culinary Arts education and/or experience as a Lead Cook, Executive Chef, or similar role in a large-volume facility required.
• Experience preparing or overseeing approximately 500 meals per day.
• Serve-Safe certification required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience supervising and training employees or volunteers.
• Ability to plan menus, purchase ingredients, manage inventory, and minimize food waste.
• Experience coordinating large-scale meals, banquets, or special events.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily food service operations, meal preparation, service and cleanup.
• Supervise paid staff, volunteers, and program participants working in the kitchen.
• Create balanced menu plans while minimizing food waste.
• Manage purchasing and inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
• Ensure compliance with Health Department regulations and food safety practices.
• Train kitchen staff and volunteers on Serve-Safe practices.
• Coordinate routine cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Track food donations, meals served, and other monthly statistics.
