Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Sorter to safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities are acceptable for sale to brokers or mills. The role involves sorting materials like aluminum, plastic, glass and paper and ensuring items go to the correct chute.

Starting pay is $21.51 per hour with a pay range of $18.30–$25.20 per hour, reflecting minimum wage variations by locality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a Recycling Facility sorting recyclable materials.

Responsibilities

• Sort and segregate recoverable materials from incoming waste.
• Deposit recoverable materials into appropriate chute.
• Assist other sorters with heavy or bulky items as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and stop conveyors in emergencies.
• Inspect loads for unacceptable waste and remove as required.
• Coordinate with equipment operators on special loads.
