Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a dedicated Sorter to safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities meet sale-grade standards. The role includes sorting materials, depositing them into the correct chute, and assisting with heavier items when needed.

Responsibilities include inspecting incoming loads, coordinating with operators on special loads, and adhering to all safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience sorting recyclable materials in a facility.
• Commitment to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sort and segregate recyclables (aluminum, plastic, glass, paper, etc.) from incoming waste.
• Deposit recoverable materials into appropriate chute safely and efficiently.
• Assist others with heavy or bulky items as needed.
• Follow all safety policies, including stopping the conveyor in emergencies.
• Inspect loads for unacceptable waste and remove items as required.
• Communicate with equipment operators regarding special loads or attention-needed shipments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
