Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Sorter at our Materials Recovery Facility. You will sort through recycled materials on the conveyor belt, inspect items, and place them by commodity, size, condition, and grade.

Starting pay is $15 per hour with room for advancement. The role emphasizes safety, PPE use, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. You will perform plant housekeeping and participate in required safety trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job (standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying and climbing).
• Legally eligible to work in the US and complete pre-employment testing.
• Good verbal communication and the ability to follow instructions in English.
• Ability to distinguish between various recyclable materials.

Responsabilités

• Sorts assigned commodities according to facility goals.
• Performs duties safely and efficiently.
• Ensures PPE is used and safety culture is upheld.
• Performs cleaning duties related to plant equipment and housekeeping.
• Reports system problems to Supervisor.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Completes required safety trainings and attends monthly trainings.
• Maintains excellent attendance and safety records.
• Participates in training and other learning opportunities.
