Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Sorter for its Material Recovery Facility in Vermont. The role involves sorting through incoming recyclables on a conveyor, inspecting items, and placing materials into designated areas by commodity, size, and grade.

Starting pay is $18.50 per hour with room for advancement. The successful candidate will work in a team-oriented setting, follow safety protocols, and participate in ongoing trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to perform physical requirements (standing, lifting, bending, etc.).
• Legally eligible to work in the US and willing to complete pre-employment testing.

Responsibilities

• Sorts recycled materials according to commodity, size, condition, and grade.
• Performs cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping.
• Reports system problems immediately to Supervisor.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Attends safety trainings and ongoing training as needed.
