Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Sorter to safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities meet buyer specifications. You will sort materials such as aluminum, plastic, glass, and paper, and deposit them into appropriate chutes while maintaining strict safety protocols.

Ideal candidates have prior experience in a recycling facility and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a Recycling Facility sorting recyclable materials.

Responsibilities

• Sort and segregate recoverable materials from incoming waste.
• Deposit recoverable materials safely into appropriate chute.
• Assist other sorters with heavy or bulky items as needed.
• Follow all safety policies, including stopping the conveyor belt in emergencies.
• Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable waste and remove items as required.
• Communicate with equipment operators regarding loads needing special attention.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
