Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Sorter to safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities meet broker or mill requirements. The role involves sorting, segregating, and depositing materials into appropriate chutes, with collaboration across a team to handle heavy items and ensure safety.

Responsibilities include inspecting loads, coordinating with equipment operators on special waste, and adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a Recycling Facility sorting recyclable materials.

Responsibilities

• Sort and segregate recoverable materials from incoming waste.
• Deposit recoverable materials into the appropriate chute.
• Assist other sorters with heavy or bulky items as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including stopping the conveyor belt in emergencies.
• Inspect loads for unacceptable waste and remove items as required.
• Communicate with equipment operators about special loads.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
