Recruiting Coordinator serves as the primary point of contactfor prospective Professional Education students. The positionsupports enrollment growth by promoting Professional Educationrecruiting programs, responding to inquiries, engaging prospectivestudents, identifying appropriate educational opportunities, andguiding individuals toward programs that align with theirprofessional and educational goals.
JOB DUTIES
- Serves as the primary point of contact for individualsinterested in Professional Education programs; manages thedepartmental email inbox; and responds to or routes phone, email,and in-person inquiries in a timely, professional, and helpfulmanner.
- Develops and maintains detailed knowledge of the ProfessionalEducation portfolio to answer questions, recommend appropriateprograms, and create and deliver presentations and otherinformational resources.
- Collaborates with Senior Program Managers, the Associate Deanof Enrollment Management and Admissions (ADEMA), and the Marketing& Engagement team to develop and execute comprehensiveenrollment and outreach plans, expand the prospective student pooland identify new recruitment opportunities
- Engages and guides prospective students through phone, email,individual meetings, presentations, information sessions, and otheroutreach activities; uses the School's CRM (Slate) to document,track, and advance prospective students through the enrollmentprocess. Represents SPCS and the University at community andeducational events, employment fairs, professional conferences, andother recruitment and outreach opportunities throughout theRichmond region, the Commonwealth, and beyond
- Tracks and reports on enrollment and engagement activities andthe effectiveness of recruitment strategies; recommendsimprovements; maintains related standard operating procedures(SOPs); and provides additional enrollment and engagement supportas directed
Partnership Development
- Develops and maintains a process and pipeline for researchingand identifying businesses, employers, educational institutions,professional associations, and community organizations that maybenefit from Professional Education programming, customizedtraining, or other educational opportunities
- Manages initial inbound and outbound partnership outreach andconducts preliminary conversations to understand organizationalneeds and assess alignment with Professional Educationcapabilities
- Tracks partnership prospects, activities, and outcomes andtransitions qualified opportunities to Senior Program Managersand/or the Director of Professional Education for relationshipdevelopment, program design, and implementation
Communications
- Supports enrollment-focused communications to prospective,current, and former students in collaboration with Senior ProgramManagers and the Marketing & Engagement team
- Communicates program updates and changes to the Marketing &Engagement team
- Reviews prospective student questions, feedback, interests, andinquiry trends
Marketing and Engagement Support
- Collaborates with Senior Program Managers and the Marketing& Engagement team
- Provides program knowledge and prospective student insights tosupport print materials, digital advertising, email campaigns,presentations, social media content, etc.
- Supports outreach through professional associations, employers,educational institutions, alumni, and community organizations;identifies opportunities to increase Professional Educationvisibility
Event Planning and Outreach
- Plans, coordinates, and supports campus, community,organization-specific, and virtual events that promote ProfessionalEducation and engage prospective students
- Serves as a point of contact for vendors, venues, professionalorganizations, and partner organizations; coordinates eventlogistics, materials, staffing, and technology
- Evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of events asenrollment and engagement strategies
- Assists Program Managers with program administration,instructor communication, and student support
- Coordinates logistics for Professional Education classes,orientations, instructor trainings, graduations, and other programactivities
- Provides basic classroom technology and logistical support toinstructors and assists with the preparation and distribution ofprogram materials and student communications
- Identifies and recommends processes, tools, and practices thatimprove the student experience, enrollment processes, ordepartmental efficiency and provides additional program support asdirected
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Occasional supervision of other ProgramCoordinators, Specialists, Student Employees, and Instructors
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT
Environment - Work may be required: On campus and otheron-campus locations or off-campus venues/locations
Exposures: Required to work outside on occasion
Essential Personal Requirements
Comfortable greeting andspeaking to the public; physically capable of setting up displays,display "tents," tables, signage, and walking and standing forextended periods. Must be able to move, lift, carry up to 30pounds
QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of the operations/processes of highereducation
- Knowledge of noncredit education, professional development,continuing education, workforce development, or related educationalprogramming preferred
- Strong organizational, project management, and follow-throughskills
- Ability to quickly develop and maintain detailed knowledge of abroad portfolio of Professional Education programs
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and publicspeaking skills
- Ability to conduct proactive outreach and develop newprospective student and partnership opportunities
- Ability to communicate educational opportunities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, inquiries, projects, andevents simultaneously
- Ability to analyze enrollment, inquiry, engagement, andoutreach data and use findings to improve strategies andprocesses
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectivelyacross program, marketing, administrative, and leadershipteams
Education & experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience in higher ed, continuing and professional education,student engagement, enrollment management, recruitment, sales,community outreach, workforce development, or a related fieldpreferred.
- Experience developing relationships with prospective students,customers, clients, community organizations, or business partnerspreferred.
- Experience with program administration, project management,event coordination, or partnership development preferred.
- Experience using software and enrollment systems, MicrosoftOffice, Zoom, CRM systems to manage prospective student, customer,or client relationships, preferred.
Schedule
University of Richmond office hours 8:30am - 5pm;Monday - Friday, 38.75 per week. Required to work evenings andweekends as needed for special events
