Job summary

Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a Recruiter I to engage high school and community college students across the state. You will counsel prospective students and parents, and represent MTSU at recruitment events.

This entry-level role requires a bachelor's degree, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel extensively, including evenings and weekends.

  • Valid driver’s license is required; a DMV background check will be conducted prior to hire.

Job Summary/Basic Function

Recruit students from high schools and community colleges across the state of Tennessee. Counsel prospective students and their parents, represent students and their parents, represent MTSU at high school recruiting events, and serve as liaison with faculty and staff involved in the admissions process. Extensive travel; occasional evening, weekend and extended work hours required. Activities include cultivate and develop relationships with high school counselors, principals, community college counselors and other persons who influence college enrollment decisions.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree required.

Required Related Experience

Entry level position. No experience required.

Required License/Registration/Certification

Valid drivers license required. A DMV background check will be conducted prior to the hiring decision.

Desirable Related Experience

Previous work experience in higher education preferred.
