Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Svc in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Recreational Therapist to join an interdisciplinary treatment team. You will design individualized programs, lead therapy groups, and monitor patient progress within a supportive, safety-conscious environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Recreational Therapy and CTRS certification, with Master’s degree preferred and at least three months of relevant psychiatric/medical experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Recreational Therapy is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Certification as CTRS is required or preferred.
• Minimum three months of relevant psychiatric/medical/clinical experience.
• Familiarity with therapy principles, expressive arts activities and group counseling.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs and develop a treatment plan with an interdisciplinary team.
• Plan milieu programming, teach skills, and run therapy groups.
• Establish therapeutic relationships and contribute to the treatment plan.
• Monitor safety, document accurately, and report risks to leadership.
• Participate in rounds and quality improvement activities as needed.
• Support staff training, orientation, and performance reviews.
