Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Wilmington, NC seeks a dynamic Program Supervisor to lead the EMPOWER Recreation & Wellness program. This full-time role involves planning, facilitating, and coordinating recreational activities, with direct supervision of staff, and contributing to program operations.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of supervisory experience, a degree in recreation or related field, and experience with disabilities or mental health populations. Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of supervisor experience overseeing staff and implementation of activities within the program.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, special education, or related human service field preferred.
• 2 years’ experience with developmental disabilities and mental health populations preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, facilitate, and implement recreational and wellness activities and assist in overall program operations.
• Recruit Direct Support staff including interviews, job shadowing, and hiring process.
• Review participant files and engage with participants to understand capabilities and staff assignments.
• Ensure groups and programs are developed and executed with participant needs, interests, and abilities.
