Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a dynamic Program Supervisor to lead the EMPOWER Recreation & Wellness program in Wilmington, NC. This full-time on-site role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, along with a supportive team dedicated to empowering individuals in the community.

The position requires two years of supervisory experience, a bachelor's degree in recreation or related field, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Two (2) years of supervisor experience overseeing staff and implementation of activities within the program.
Bachelor's degree in recreation, special education, or related human service field preferred.
2 years’ experience with developmental disabilities and mental health populations preferred.
Valid driver's license, good driving record and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

Plan, facilitate, and implement recreational and wellness activities as well as assist in overall program operations.
Direct supervision of the direct care recreation para-professionals.
Assist in recruitment of Direct Support staff including interviews, job shadowing, and hiring process.
Review participant files and engage with participants to understand capabilities and assign staff accordingly.
Ensure groups and programs are developed and executed considering participant needs and abilities.
