Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a dynamic Recreation and Wellness Program Supervisor to lead the EMPOWER program in New Bern. This full-time on-site role offers a competitive salary and benefits, overseeing recreation activities and para-professional staff.

You will recruit staff, tailor activities to participant needs, and manage program operations to support individuals with diverse abilities while promoting an inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisor experience overseeing staff and activities.
• Bachelor's degree in recreation, special education, or related human service field preferred.
• Two years of experience with developmental disabilities and mental health populations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit Direct Support staff including interviews, shadowing and hiring.
• Review participant files and engage with participants to understand capabilities and assign staff accordingly.
• Ensure groups and programs are developed and executed with participant needs, interests and abilities.
