Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in New Bern, NC seeks a Recreation and Wellness Program Supervisor to lead our EMPOWER Recreation & Wellness program. This full-time role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, with on-site duties and some weekend hours.

You will plan, facilitate, and implement recreational activities, supervising direct care recreation staff, and helping recruit team members to support participants with varied abilities.

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisor experience overseeing staff and program activities.
• Bachelor's degree in recreation, special education, or related human service field preferred.
• Two years’ experience with developmental disabilities and mental health populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the recruitment of Direct Support staff including interviews, job shadowing, and hiring process.
• Review participant files and engage with participants to understand capabilities and staff assignments.
• Ensure groups and programs are developed and executed with participant needs, interests, and abilities in mind.

Education

Bachelor's degree in recreation, special education, or related human service field
