Job summary

The City of Navasota is seeking a Recreation Specialist under the supervision of the Parks and Recreation Manager to support development, promotion, execution and evaluation of Community Services Department programs and events. This role collaborates with park staff, officials and outside organizations to achieve department goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation or four years’ related experience.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, preparing, promoting and executing events and programs for the Parks and Recreation Department.
• Develop leisure programs across youth, athletics, fitness, and senior activities; research community needs and trends.
• Design and deliver promotional materials via social media, flyers and brochures.
• Collect registration fees and manage facility rentals and reservations.
• Coordinate with park staff, officials, outside groups and the public to meet department goals.
• Provide supervision to staff and volunteers and support administrative tasks.
