Job summary

The City of Cedar Park seeks a Recreation Coordinator to direct, plan, organize, supervise and schedule a range of recreation programs, including nature-based, multi-generational, senior, athletics, arts, therapeutic recreation, fitness, or STEM programs. You will manage staff schedules, vendors, budgets, and events while ensuring safety and quality service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation administration, Therapeutic Recreation, or a closely related degree.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in supervision, operation, and management of recreation facilities and programs.
  • CTRS designation or ability to obtain within six months of hiring.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate records of program revenues, attendance and operating costs.
  • Oversees the development, scheduling and implementation of recreation programs; manages events, tournaments, and special projects.
  • Promotes programs and events with other divisions and departments.
  • Develops and updates facility rules, policies and procedures; publishes manuals.
  • Regularly evaluate fees for fee-based programs and advise on adjustments.
  • Manages and enters programs into registration software and program guides.
  • Collaborates with community organizations and contracted instructors.
