The Cumberland Heights Foundation Inc Recovery Assistant role supports a therapeutic milieu on campus, helping with daily patient needs and assisting clinical staff. You will monitor groups, assist in groups, and ensure safety and confidentiality.

This position requires sensitivity to diverse patients, solid communication, and the ability to respond calmly in crisis, including CPR/First Aid as needed. Some shifts may include weekends.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 1 year experience in addictions treatment preferred
• CPRS certification preferred but not required
• Tennessee driver’s license preferred (may transport patients)
• Intermediate computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel
• Ability to problem-solve, analyze, and interpret information
• Able to adapt to changing circumstances and patient needs
• Must be open and culturally sensitive to diverse patients
• Excellent written and oral communication in English
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and staff
• Ability to model/teach the 12 Step programs
• If in recovery, one year of abstinence required; two years preferred

Responsabilités

• Welcomes new patients and families; assists with campus orientation
• Manages patient community and enforces behavior with clinical staff guidance
• Supports in-house and outside 12-step meetings and groups
• Monitors patients through rounds and bed checks to ensure safety
• Transports patients to meetings and therapeutic activities
• Assists activities staff with arts, recreation, and adventure therapies
• De-escalates crises using Handle with Care techniques
• Performs CPR and First Aid when needed
• Attends team meetings, treatment plan reviews, and quality activities
• Documents information in the electronic patient record
• Recommends improvements to service delivery
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information
• Performs other duties as assigned
