Job summary

Cumberland Heights is seeking a Recovery Assistant to help monitor a patient group, assist clinical staff, and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment on campus. The role involves welcoming patients, supporting groups, and ensuring smooth daily operations in recovery programs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, CPRS is a plus, and strong communication skills. A positive, collaborative attitude and the ability to deescalate crises are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• CPRS certification preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes new patients and families and orients them to campus and program.
• Maintains a therapeutic milieu and enforces community guidelines.
• Assists with groups, 12-step meetings, and discussions.
• Monitors patients with rounds and bed checks for safety.
• Transports patients to meetings and activities as assigned.
• Supports recreation and therapy-based activities with staff.
• Deescalates crises using Handle with Care techniques.
• Performs CPR and First Aid as needed.
• Participates in treatment plan reviews and QA activities.
• Documents information in the electronic patient record.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
