Job summary

Cumberland Heights Foundation Inc. seeks a Recovery Assistant to help monitor a patient group and support daily needs on campus, contributing to a safe, therapeutic environment. You will assist clinical staff while engaging patients in recovery-focused activities and meetings.

Requires a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred) and experience in addictions treatment; CPR/First Aid and a Tennessee driver's license are valued. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One year experience in addictions treatment preferred.
• CPRS certification preferred but not required.
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes new patients and families to campus and orients them to the program.
• Manages patient community as a therapeutic milieu and enforces guidelines.
• Assists with community groups and 12-step meetings and discussions.
• Monitors patients with rounds and bed checks to ensure safety.
• Transports patients to meetings and recreational activities.
• Assists Activities Services with therapies such as recreation, art, music.
• De-escalates crises using Handle with Care as needed.
• Performs CPR and First Aid as needed.
• Attends team meetings and treatment plan reviews.
• Documents information in the electronic patient record.
• Suggests ways to improve the quality and delivery of services.
• Maintains confidentiality of company and patient information.
• Adapts to change and performs other duties as assigned.
