Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be NC Certified Peer Support Specialist.
• Lived experience as a consumer of mental health or substance use services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• WRAP or equivalent training beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Peer-based recovery support: Provide individualized guidance and coaching to peers with mental health or substance use challenges.
• Empowerment: Help identify strengths and goals, promoting self-advocacy and informed recovery choices.
• Resource navigation: Assist access to housing, employment, education, healthcare, and social supports.
• Crisis intervention: Support during crises and coordinate continuity of care with professionals.
• Skill development: Aid in self-help, coping, and daily living skills including finances and healthcare.
• Role modeling: Demonstrate recovery values to encourage wellness and hope.
• Documentation and collaboration: Maintain records and participate in team meetings.
