Job summary

Tech9 is seeking a North Carolina Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-oriented guidance and coaching to individuals facing mental health and/or substance use challenges at our Winston-Salem site.

The role emphasizes empowerment, self-determination, and linkage to community resources, with emphasis on crisis support and collaboration with healthcare professionals. A NC CPSS certification and lived experience are required; HS diploma or GED is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to provide recovery-focused guidance and coaching.
• Experience supporting individuals with mental health or substance use challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, recovery-oriented support to peers using lived experience.
• Assist with daily living skills, resource navigation, and community integration.
• Document interactions and contribute to team meetings and care coordination.
• Model recovery values and support self-advocacy and informed decision-making.
