Job summary

Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) seeks a Peer Support Specialist to provide one-on-one support and help clients navigate daily challenges related to recovery and reintegration into the community.

You will apply assertive engagement and harm-reduction approaches to foster engagement in community and facility settings. Ideal candidates will have a High school diploma or GED, six months recovery experience, six months in behavioral health, a valid AZ driver’s license, and CPSS or be willing to obtain

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders required.
• Minimum of six months experience in the Behavioral Health and/or Substance Abuse field required.
• Current AZ Driver's License (Valid and in good standing).
• Clear 39-Month Motor Vehicle Record.
• Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) or able to obtain a CPSS certification within 90 days (3 Months) of hire.
• Addiction and Substance Use Disorders certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Peer Support Specialist assists one-on-one support needs and helps with day-to-day problem solving related to normalization and reintegration into the community.
• Utilizes best practices of assertive engagement, harm reduction and peer support when engaging with members in the community and in the facility.
• Embraces the recovery philosophy and promotes a safe and inclusive recovery environment for clients.
