Job summary

American Addiction Centers is seeking a Treatment Advocate to support patients in recovery, assist with daily programming, and operate the company vehicle for transport.

The role requires interactions with patients, families, and staff, compliance with HIPAA, and adherence to clinical guidelines. Strong organization, safety awareness, and flexibility with hours are essential to succeed in this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Behavioral Sciences (social sciences, human services, counseling or psychology).
• Valid Driver’s License required with insurable driving record.
• Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
• Knowledge of utilizing electronic health record software and documentation preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new patients and assist orientation of programming schedule and rules.
• Conduct patient belongings search during admission.
• Complete safety rounds and security checks.
• Coordinate patient daily schedule including treatment meetings and activities.
• Provide support and encouragement to patients and participation in group and individual counseling services.
• Support clinical and nursing services as assigned.
• Attend weekly treatment team and program staff meetings.
• Ensure documentation meets contract, licensure, accreditation, and standards per AAC policy.
