Job summary

American Addiction Centers seeks a Treatment Advocate to observe daily activities, assist in recovery, and support the treatment team. The TA will operate the company vehicle for transport and help coordinate patients' daily programming with a focus on compassionate, comprehensive care.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clinical staff, documentation compliance, and effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues. Weekend shifts and flexible hours are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Behavioral Sciences (social sciences, human services, counseling or psychology).
• Valid Driver’s License with insurable driving record.
• Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a behavioral healthcare field preferred.
• Knowledge of utilizing electronic health record software and documentation preferred.
• Ability to read, write and interpret written information, type documentation, present information to groups and participate in meetings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new patients and orient them to the programming schedule and rules.
• Conduct patient belongings searches on admission.
• Complete safety rounds and security checks.
• Coordinate patient daily schedule including treatment meetings and activities.
• Provide support and encouragement to patients and participation in counseling services.
• Support clinical and nursing services as assigned.
• Participate in weekly treatment team and program staff meetings.
• Ensure documentation meets contractual, licensure, and accreditation standards per policy.
