Job summary

RI International in Baton Rouge seeks a Peer Support Specialist I to provide recovery-focused peer support at the Crisis - Bridge Center For Hope. You will engage participants, teach recovery skills, and advocate for their needs within a collaborative team.

Requirements include Peer Employment Training with certification and a High School Diploma. Applicants must be 18+, able to work shifts including holidays, and commit to the comprehensive RI benefits program.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Peer Employment Training and obtaining Peer Support Specialist Certification.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience with mental health/substance use services beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to engage individuals in recovery and identify goals.
• Teach recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Model hope, responsibility and self-advocacy to support recovery goals.
• Develop natural supports and community connections for clients.
• Coordinate with clinical teams to arrange services and resources.
• Complete required clinical documentation and follow policies.
