Job summary

RI International in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Peer Support Specialist I to provide recovery-focused support and training to individuals receiving services. You will advocate for participant needs and help create a supportive recovery environment.

The role requires completing Peer Employment Training, a high school diploma, and lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges. Expect a 2:00pm–11:30pm shift, full-time hours, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Educational requirements include Peer Employment Training Certification and a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use services is required.
• Computer literacy and ability to teach recovery information are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provides peer support to engage and advocate for participants in recovery.
• Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Models hope and self-advocacy to support recovery goals.
• Assists in developing natural supports and community living.
• Coordinates with clinical teams to arrange services.
