Job summary

RI International is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist I at the Wake Recovery Response Center in Raleigh, NC. You will provide peer support, assist in creating a recovery environment, and advocate for individuals’ needs and rights on their journey to recovery.

The role emphasizes teaching recovery tools, collaborating with the clinical team, and promoting self-advocacy while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Peer Support Specialist required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use services.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership.
• Teach recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals and support their recovery goals.
• Coordinate with the clinical team to arrange services and resources.
