Qualifications

• Must hold an OHMHAS Peer Supporter Certification or pursue OHMHAS certification.
• 1+ year of personal lived experience in recovery from SUD.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with active insurance.
• GED or High School Diploma required.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Build connections with individuals in recovery and provide empathetic, non-judgmental support.
• Offer client-led peer support, wellness plans, and coping strategy development.
• Advocate for access to services; collaborate with community organizations.
• Identify crises and engage professional services when needed.
• Maintain confidential digital records and participate in weekly supervision.
