Job summary

Miami Technical Services in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Material Handler to work in a warehouse environment for the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). This full-time role runs 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a base pay of $19.41 per hour plus $5.09 per hour allocated to Health & Welfare funds to apply to benefits.

You will locate, retrieve, and file records, lift boxes, and assist with scanning preparation as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs regularly
• Climb ladders to reach shelves up to 15 ft high
• May be required to pass a drug screen
• Background check and government security clearance required

Responsibilities

• Locate containers or folders on shelving using pull list information; containers may be on floor or shelves up to 15 ft high requiring pulpit ladder
• Remove containers from shelving; verify pull list accuracy; document discrepancies
• Place containers or folders on streamliners with numbers visible and facing same direction
• Move records to Designated Disposal Review Area
• Palletize disposable records; label, stack, and shrink wrap
• Validate space requirements; transport records to assigned location; shelve non-disposable records
• Retrieve batched requests; sign-out batches in logbook with pertinent details
• Locate requested files; pull, mark, and report Not-in-File or Charged-Out status; audit and sign in batch completes
• Retrieve documents for scanning; prepare for scanning; verify hardware, resolution, and image clarity; re-scan as needed
