Job summary

National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) seeks a Material Handler to sort, retrieve, and file records in a warehouse setting. You will support scanning, verification, and batch log workflows while complying with security and citizenship requirements.

The role offers full benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, vacation, sick leave, disability) and a schedule of 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday. Pay is $21.97 per hour with health-related funds applied to benefits.

Qualifications

• Able to perform in a labor-intensive environment.
• Strong attention to detail required.
• Must lift 30–50 lbs regularly and climb ladders up to 15 feet high.
• HS diploma or GED required; background and drug screening.
• US citizenship required for this contract.

Responsibilities

• Locate containers or folders on shelving and verify pull list accuracy.
• Move and stage records for processing, scanning, and auditing.
• Prepare documents for scanning, verify order, and handle data entry on mobile devices.
• Retrieve requested files, mark and log batches, and ensure proper shelving and disposition.
• Audit folders and complete batch sign-in with timestamps.
• Work in a warehouse environment with standard shifts as outlined.
