Job summary

BlackFish Federal is hiring a Material Handler to work in a warehouse and records storage environment for the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The role involves sorting, retrieving and filing records, with a schedule of 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, Monday through Friday and a pay rate of $21.91 per hour plus benefit funds.

Qualifications

• Able to work in a labor-intensive environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift boxes up to 30 to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Must be able to climb ladders to reach shelving up to 15 feet high.
• Have the ability to pass a drug screen and a background check.
• This contract requires that all candidates are U.S. citizens.
• Must have high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Locate containers or folders on shelving using pull lists or reports; reach up to 15' high.
• Remove containers from shelving; verify pull list; report discrepancies.
• Place containers or folders on streamliners; ensure visibility of identifying numbers.
• Move records to Disposal Review Area.
• Palletize containers; shrink wrap as needed.
• Load, transport, and shelve records; verify manifests and accuracy.
• Retrieve batched requests and sign out batches in logbooks.
• Retrieve documents for scanning and prepare for digital imaging.
• Use handheld devices for data entry and daily totals.
