Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington seeks a full-time Student Services Generalist in the Office of Enrollment Management. You will provide in-person, phone, and email student support, advise on financial aid, billing, and registration, and resolve complex student issues across university systems.

You will represent Student Central at events and help ensure accurate data and smooth daily operations while maintaining confidentiality and high-quality service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred completion of at least 2 years of college coursework.
  • Experience in customer service or higher education is expected.

The Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) serves Indiana UniversityBloomington by recruiting, enrolling, and supporting studentsthroughouttheir academic journey. Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
  • Delivers high-quality, in-person, phone, and email support tostudents, families, and third parties, with a focus on resolvingcomplex or multi-faceted issues.
  • Provides holistic advising and front-line problem solving inthe areas of financial aid, billing and payments, student records,and registration.
  • Investigates and resolves complicated student issues that mayinvolve multiple departments or university systems.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of information and supportsthe efficiency of daily operations.
  • Represents Student Central at on-campus and off-campus outreachevents, fostering relationships with students and communitymembers.
  • Utilizes various university systems, including the StudentInformation System (SIS), Indiana University.
  • Information Environment (IUIE), and Kuali Financial System(KFS), to interpret data and assist students effectively.

General Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains, schedules, and monitors work product of dataentry staff; ensures accuracy and completeness of operations;ensures smooth flow of operations. Oversees processing of allemployee and payroll forms.
  • Serves as informational resource to staff; provides technicalguidance; assists staff in resolving problems involved withoperations; answers staff questions regarding policies andprocedures.
  • Responds to outside inquiries regarding operations;investigates and resolves problems, complaints, ordiscrepancies.
  • Monitors inventory of office supplies and forms; orders asnecessary.
  • Compiles and analyzes data entered and prepares any neededreports. Analyzes operations and makes recommendations onimprovements.
  • Oversees the maintenance of any required files.
  • Evaluates forms used in collecting data; recommendsimprovements.
Qualifications

Combinations of related education and experience may beconsidered. Education beyond the minimum required may besubstituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimumrequired may be substituted for education.

EDUCATION
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
Preferred
  • Completion of at least 2 years of college coursework
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
  • 4 years in customer service, higher education, or relatedfield.
Preferred
  • 2 years of experience working with complex data and/or in arecords or data services environment that required both customerservice and data interpretation.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and tooperate a computer and other standard office productivityequipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periodsof time moving around an office environment and the campus. Theperson in this role must be able to perform the essential functionswith or without an accommodation.

Work Location

Bloomington, Indiana

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between 2remote workdays and 3 in-person workdays), subject to change in thefuture based on university policy and business needs.

$41,808 annually
