The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is hiring a Customer Records Technician for positions with the Records Access Management Services at our headquarters in Richmond, VA. This role processes requests for crash, driver, and vehicle records, ensuring timely release of information in compliance with laws and procedures.

The position serves as the primary contact for record requests and supports courteous public service.

Qualifications

Knowledge of standard office practices, equipment, forms, and filing systems.
Experience handling confidential information, including FOIA requests, with discretion.
Experience communicating with customers and stakeholders to explain regulations and process requests.
Experience preparing clear written correspondence with grammar and detail.
Experience researching and analyzing data to reach conclusions.
Experience performing detailed work using prescribed procedures and entering/retrieving records and payments.
Experience with typing and using a PC, including Microsoft 365 and Adobe, and online databases.
Knowledge of cash handling and payment processing to balance daily transactions.
Experience managing competing priorities in a high-volume, customer-focused environment.

Responsabilités

Process incoming requests for crash, driver, and vehicle records.
Serve as the primary contact for record request processing in the Records work center.
Ensure the accurate and timely release of information in compliance with statutes and procedures.
