Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Engineer to kick off a career in project management on multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects in Houston. You will develop skills in estimating, scheduling and design within the design-build process.

The role involves assessing changes, managing change orders, procuring equipment and services, and supporting subcontractor selection. Strong communication and CAD/Office skills are valued as you grow with our employee-owned team.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or applicable experience.
• Basic ERP skills to review and print job cost reports.
• Knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; CAD experience is a plus.

Position Summary

Position Details

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.


• Manages change orders.Ensure they are completed accurately and tracked as required.


• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.


• Stays current on emerging trends.


• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed

Qualifications

• Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports


• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings


• Basic verbal and written communications skills


• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel


• Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience.
