Job summary

Southland Industries in Texas is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a project team on large, complex MEP projects, coach staff, and serve as the primary client contact. You will develop client relationships, manage budgets and schedules, review change orders, and align project strategy with leadership.

Requirements include a four-year engineering degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience, with strong communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or applicable experience.
• 10+ years of experience in project management or engineering.
• Expert knowledge of systems design (HVAC, plumbing) and design engineering basics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients and contractors.
• Proven ability to manage multiple large, complex projects.
• Strong public speaking and proposal presentation skills.
• Proficient in CADD, ERP and Microsoft Office (Excel).

Job description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing a project team for a single large complex project or multiple smaller projects, including providing coaching and performance feedback. In addition, this role serves as the primary point of contact for the project.

Position Details

• Develop client relationships by providing project status updates to clients and leadership.
• Partners with management to develop and implement project strategies.
• Manages budget reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, etc. for project.
• Participate in project meetings with internal departments to discuss project schedule and issues as needed.
• Partners with stakeholders to ensure scope and direction of project is on schedule.
• Delegates work and serve as a mentor to the project team. Provides coaching and performance feedback as necessary.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience
• Minimum 10 years' experience
• Expert knowledge of applicable systems design, such as HVAC, plumbing, etc., as well as all design engineering aspects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of employees, clients and general contractors
• Proven ability to manage multiple larger complex projects
• Strong public speaking ability
• Ability to present proposals to clients
• Strong computer skills, including CADD, ERP and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel
