Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an entry-level engineer to support project teams on smaller, less complex projects. You will estimate impact of changes, manage change orders, and ensure accurate tracking.

You will procure equipment, materials, and services, and assist in selecting subcontractors while staying current on industry trends. The role involves analyzing basic questions and applying basic ERP, CAD, and MS Office skills to daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience.
• Entry-level position.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing drawings.
• Basic ERP skills and ability to print job cost reports.
• Basic communication skills and computer skills (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Estimate impact of project changes and inform management.
• Manage change orders and ensure accurate tracking.

• Ensures they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience
• Entry-level position
• Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing design
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing drawings
• Basic verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel
