Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Engineer to support multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects, developing skills in estimating, scheduling, and design within the design-build process.

You will assist in change orders, procurement, and coordination with subcontractors, while staying current on industry trends. A four-year engineering degree and basic ERP, CAD, and Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with ERP reporting tools and cost data.
• Knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills including CADD and Microsoft Office (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Estimate the impact of project changes and inform management.
• Manage change orders with accurate tracking.
• Procure equipment, materials, and services and assist in subcontractor selection.
• Stay current on industry trends relevant to MEP projects.
• Analyze and resolve basic project questions and problems as needed.

Position Summary

Position Details

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
• Manages change orders. Ensure they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings
• Basic verbal and written communications skills
• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel
• Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience.
