Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced store leadership applicant to plan, direct, and supervise daily operations across multiple departments. You will mentor staff, implement customer service strategies, and drive sales while maintaining Meijer standards.

The role emphasizes staff development, safety, attendance, and cross-department collaboration to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations within various store departments.
• Mentors and coaches team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintains store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Staffs, selects and hires to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and discharges when necessary.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and reducing shrink in the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Ensures team training and adherence to company standards.
• Spends time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promotes a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
