Actalent is seeking a Rear Closures D&R Engineer in Dearborn, MI, to develop and release technical requirements for rear closures, including liftgates and cargo doors. You will be a core SME, guiding design, performance, and integration with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities include creating DVPR, technical requirements, FMA, and strategic documents, plus leading sheet metal structures, hinges, latches, mechanisms, and system integration, using CATIA/3DX and Teamcenter

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical engineering with rear closure systems is preferred.
• Ability to translate VOC into technical requirements and specifications.
• Familiarity with design for manufacturing and robustness tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and release technical requirements and strategies for rear closures including liftgates and tailgates.
• Serve as SME for rear closures, guiding design, performance, and integration.
• Create and maintain core engineering docs (DVPR, FMA, technical strategies).
• Lead sheet metal structures, hinges, latches, mechanisms, and system integration.
• Create clear technical specs from physics-based analyses and customer use cases.
