Job summary

Slate is seeking a Design Release Engineer for Body Closures in Troy, MI. You will own exterior closure components from concept to production, including doors, hoods and liftgates, ensuring manufacturability and production readiness.

Use Catia V5, Teamcenter and DFMEA to meet performance, quality, cost and timing targets, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to satisfy program requirements.

Qualifications

• Educational background in automotive/related engineering
• 5 years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience with Catia V5, Teamcenter, and DFMEA

Responsibilities

• Design and development of vehicle body closures; own components from concept to production
• Lead exterior component development for doors, hoods, liftgates and closures; ensure manufacturability and readiness
• Apply DFMEA, DFM/ DFA/ DFS; support supplier reviews and capability validations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet performance, quality, cost and timing targets

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree)
