Employee Workplace in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Design & Release Engineer for closures and latching systems. This onsite, temporary assignment offers a starting hourly rate of $42.31+ and opportunities to lead design, validation, and release activities for vehicle closure components.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering background, 2+ years of automotive product development experience, and strong CAD/DFMEA/PPAP capabilities, with travel flexibility to supplier sites and testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years engineering experience in automotive or related mechanical product development.
• Experience with CAD software and GD&T/PPAP processes.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, validation, and release of vehicle closure and latching components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, manufacturing, and quality groups to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Create, review, and manage CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and product releases.
• Conduct design reviews, root-cause analysis, and corrective action activities to improve quality and performance.
• Support prototype builds, product testing, supplier readiness, PPAP activities, and production launches.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, durability, manufacturability, cost, and weight reduction.
