Advantage Technical is seeking a Rear Closures Core Engineer in Dearborn, MI, hybrid schedule four days onsite. You will design and release closure systems for vehicles, including liftgates, tailgates, and related mechanisms, working with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree and 5+ years of automotive closure experience, strong writing and development skills, and proficiency with CATIA V5 and DFMEA/DVP&R processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing automotive closure systems.
• Experience writing technical specifications and engineering requirements.
• Knowledge of statics, dynamics, structural mechanics, and system integration.
• Familiarity with CATIA V5, product development processes, DFMEA, DVP&R, and benchmarking.
• Experience with sheet metal structures, hinges, latches, seals, and mechanisms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and release technical requirements and engineering specifications.
• Create and maintain DFMEA, DVP&R, FMA, and related engineering documentation.
• Support closure system design, validation, and product launch activities.
• Perform competitive benchmarking and technical analysis.
• Work with 3D CAD models using CATIA V5 and related engineering tools.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve performance and quality targets.
• Support issue resolution, corrective actions, and continuous product improvement.
