Job summary

Harris Health System is seeking a Virtual Patient Observation Technician (VPOT) to provide constant, real-time video monitoring of assigned patients and to redirect at-risk behavior, coordinating with nursing staff for additional intervention when needed.

The VPOT will document observations per standards, participate in quality initiatives, and promote a compassionate, service-oriented environment using Language of Caring with patients, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical training relevant to patient observation.
• Texas Nursing Assistant Certification or a Medical Assistant certification from listed bodies and BLS.
• At least 2 years of related clinical experience; telemetry or virtual observation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time video monitoring of assigned patients.
• Verbally redirect patients from at-risk behaviors and coordinate with nursing staff for interventions.
• Document observations per standards and participate in quality initiatives.
• Maintain a patient-friendly environment using ServiceFirst behaviors and Language of Caring.
